This is an idea I saw over at http://www.thepaperboutique.blogspot.com/. I just shortened the sides and inserts to leave room for the tabs. The tabs are 2 1/4 x 3/4 from a McGill punch that I got on clearance at Michaels. Just so you know, I never pay full price for anything I purchase. I always use a coupon or get it on sale.

These cards are made without the Cricut. I think I got this idea from Mary @ Cardz TV too. I love her work!! I made six 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 cards and a gift box to put them in. I stamped the inside of the cards with a flower that has different words like Many Thanks, Friend and Hello that you can switch out in the center. The box is made using the Martha Stewart score board. The larger card is just one

Have a little free time tonight so I thought I would finally put some cards up that I had created. This is a graduation card I did for my boyfriend's daughter. She is unique and I didn't want to do just a plain card with the black hat for her. The hat is an svg file I found online. The tassle is embroidery thread I glued and twisted together.

Here is my version of a card that Mary @ Cardz TV did. This is for my daughter and her husband who will be celebrating 10 years of marriage this week. I loved the card but didn't have the carts that Mary had so I used what I had. The tree and fence are from My Community. The leaves on the tree are from a Fiskars border punch. The birds, grass and hearts are from Create a Critter. I like the little wiggly eyes so I used those instead of coloring in with ink. Looking at it now, I wish I had used the Cuttlebug swirls on the sky instead of the clouds.

This is my new Pink Cricut that I got at Michael's today and, not only did I get it for the JoAnne's price of $249 but, Michael's is having a sale where if you buy a Cricut, you can donate one to the school of your choice. My grandson, Troy, just started kindergarten so I am selecting his school. This is a great item for any school even if they only used it for the fonts on bulletin boards. It is setting on my Ikea Ekby desk which I purchased for $19. It is the perfect size for a craft room. I have two of them in mine along with my large desk. My Michael's was not familiar with the offer so I had to wait a while for the manager to check her email for corporate instructions.

My First Cricut Creation: Mickey Mouse Bag

This is the first project I created with my Cricut. I created this about 3 months ago for my grand children. I filled it with suckers, toys and other goodies that their mothers probably did not want them to have but, that is what grandmas are for. The carts I used are Plantin SchoolBook for the bag, (settings: fit to page and tall ball) Disney Mickey Font for the Mickey/Minnie faces, Accent Essentials for the scalloped circle, Wild Card for the stars on the front and the sides. I used the cutouts from the stars on the sides to put on the front. The red flowers are from a Martha Stewart punch just to add some strength to the handles. I added the black bows to dress up the sides a little more.

Christmas in July

Well this is my first blog post and my first challenge so, I hope this comes out right. I have been keeping tabs on Mary @ Cardz TV for a couple of months now since I purchased my Cricut (and $$$ of other items). She is very inspiring and talented so I decided to make my first challenge one of hers. Thank you Mary.
I am also entering this in Cricut Cardz Challenge #32. It is another wonderful site with many talented designers.
I am new to card making but quickly fell in love with it and look forward to the time I spend in my craft room/boyfriends former office. He was nice enough to let me take over his desk and space. He is wonderful.
This card was created mostly using the Cricut cartridge “Life is a Beach”. Being a Florida girl, and spending a few Christmas afternoons at the beach, I had to bring the beach theme into it.
The “sunflake” is from Christmas Cheer , the only Christmas cart I own and used. The sky was embossed using the Cuttlebug Snowflake folder. I also used Making Memories ribbon, Martha Stewart glitter and embossing snowflake edge punch. The Starfish are cut from a sheet of Me & My Big Ideas paper. I used my SCAL for the first time and cut the Snowman on my Cricut using an SVG file from SVGShop.com blog.
